The History of NCDTech

- 1996 – Founder John Forti began attending Microsoft, Linux and Adobe certification classes while working at his family’s restaurant, Carolyn’s A Matter of Taste.
- 1997 – John started out doing entry-level tech work for home users and small businesses. While his plan was to get enough experience to move to the West Coast and get a corporate job, his business quickly grew with contacts from his family restaurant.
- 1998 – As John’s one-man IT operation grew, he realized he would have to form a business and open a bank account to accept payments. In November 1998, he started Next Century Design, LLC.
- 2000 – With the new millennium came exciting changes for the company. Next Century Design grew steadily and by 2000, he had two employees and a handful of corporate customers. After Y2K, what was the “next century” became the current century and John changed the company name to NCDTech. The NCDTech team moved into their first official office – a shared 20’x20’ office space at 9012 Manchester Road. NCDTech also became a Microsoft certified partner.
- 2001 – NCDTech is designated as an Citrix certified partner.
- 2002 – By 2002, NCDTech had expanded, with a total of four employees and more customers than ever. The team moved down the road to a new office at 9222 Manchester Road. NCDTech was also recognized as Astaro Preferred Partner in 2002.
- 2003 – NCDTech aired a series of commercials on KSDK Channel 5.

- 2006 – NCDTech now included 10 employees and business continued to quickly grow. John formed a holding company to purchase and fully rehab a building at 11004 Manchester Road. The team moved into the office in September.
- 2007 – John continued to invest in the growth of NCDTech with software upgrades, streamlined operations and the purchase of a competitor – adding three new employees and several customers.
- 2008 – Today, with 15 employees and more than 400 customers, NCDTech continues to provide premier outsource IT solutions, including Managed IT Services, Business Technology Consulting and Web Hosting.
